Step-by-step review
Here is a walk-through of the purchasing experience on the Amagi Metals shopping cart. This will be a very detailed review of the buying experience at Amagi Metals, to include any quirks or weirdness I may have encountered during the process.
This time I’m purchasing a 1 Ounce Canadian Maple Leaf Coin, one of the most popular choices for investing in .9999 pure silver.
To make this purchase, I started by clicking one of the Amagi Metals logos on the BuyGoldWithBitcoin website. It links to the homepage of Amagi Metals.
At the Amagi Metals homepage, I clicked on Silver within the top main menu, then the submenu item Coins.
Within the Amagi Metal’s silver selections array, I clicked on 1 Oz 2014 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin which showed a price of $19.83. (Taking these screenshots delayed the process considerably, so that the price was actually $0.02 higher by the time I checked out.)
Clicking + ADD TO CART opens the SHOPPING CART page which says “1 Oz 2014 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin was added to your shopping cart.”
Under Estimate Shipping and Tax fill in the State/Province and Zip/Postal Code and click the “Get An Estimate” button.
Here are the shipping method choices that appear.
- In Store Pickup (during store hours)
- First-Class Mail Parcel $2.98
- Priority Mail 2-Day Small Flat Rate Box $6.02
I chose the $2.98 option.
This brought the order to $22.82 including shipping.
I clicked Proceed To Checkout.
On the Checkout page, you are given an option to checkout as a Guest or Register to make future purchases easier.
Next is Billing Information. If you are registering as a customer, this is where you will create a password.
Check Remember Me to remain logged in on your next visit.
Click Continue.
Next is Shipping Method, where your choice is made between the methods of shipping.
Click Continue.
Payment Information is next. The choices are
- Credit Card
- Other cryptocurrencies (LTC, DOGE, DRK etc.)
- PayPal
- Bitcoin
I chose Bitcoin and clicked the Continue button.
The next page is Order Review.
My order is shown, and the bitcoin widget from BitPay that says Pay With Bitcoin in the center.
To the right within this widget is a QR code for you to scan with your phone if that is your preferred method.
There is an opportunity to subscribe to the Amagi Metals newsletter with the checkbox under Newsletter Subscription.
The agreement to Terms and Conditions must be checked to proceed.
I double checked all the information here, as this is the last chance I have to check my order.
Click Place My Order.
If you have a bitcoin wallet installed on your computer, tablet or phone you can just click the button in the middle labeled Pay with Bitcoin.
I prefer not to use a software wallet, so I make the transaction by hand. In a moment I will copy the bitcoin payment address appearing here.
To make the payment, I opened my bitcoin wallet at blockchain.info, logged in, and clicked on Wallet.
On the Blockchain.info Wallet page, I clicked Login Now.
Now I’m looking at my Wallet page. My Identifier is provided by my browser from my previous visit. I only had to input my password.
I was now looking at my Wallet, and I checked that I have sufficient funds available.
I clicked on the Send Money tab.
Now back on the Amagi Metals page, I clicked on View Address, because I need the bitcoin address that receives the payment. The address appears just below the Pay with Bitcoin button. I selected and copied (Ctrl+C) that address to my clipboard, and went back to my wallet page.
I pasted the address into the To: box within my bitcoin wallet.
Returning to the Amagi Metals page, I copy the bitcoin amount.
B⃦ is a bitcoin symbol. If you can’t see it well, it looks like the dollar’s capital “S” with vertical bars, but uses a capital “B” instead.
Paste the bitcoin amount into the left side of the wallet Amount: box. On the right, the equivalent amount in dollars is shown as $22.83.
Double check for mistakes! There is no way to go back after this.
Click the Send Payment button. A blue progress bar will appear immediately for a few seconds, and you’ll hear one beep.
Looking at the confirmation page on Amagi Metals, it now says, “Your order has been received – Thank you for your purchase!”
Clicking this link will display an order confirmation that can be printed or saved.
The confirmation email arrived immediately. Also in my mailbox was a welcome email from when I registered as a customer.
Looking at my wallet, I can see the just completed transaction at the top of the list.
This purchase was complete at 11.17 pm.
The USPS tracking number arrived by email at 6:09pm the next day, just 19 hours after the payment was cleared. It included a link for tracking the order through USPS (Insured) First-Class Mail.
The USPS Tracking page provided updates until the order was delivered on Wednesday at 12:47 pm, on the 3rd business day after the order was received. This was two days earlier than the expected delivery day.
Here is the coin as it arrived shipped in a clear vinyl flip coin sleeve within a Ziplock bag, tucked inside the paper packing slip within the padded postal envelope.
Here is a better scan of the actual coin. You can enlarge it to see the closeup detail, showing the fine patterned grain added to the 2014 issue. It is a nice example of one of the world’s most beautiful .9999 silver coins, the 2014 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin.
The packing slip was professionally done. It did not indicate the cost of the sale, but only the contents shipped.
Overall, I was quite happy with this purchase.
